The Secret to Getting  Almost Total Recovery of  Wasted  Food Is--

  • Keep all cage perches 6-8 inches back from the BirdMangerTM!

Make the bird climb around the cage bars to stand on the  Manicuring Perch--Mounting Hook. 

 

 

 

 

Proper Sizing also Makes a Difference!

Skimping on size makes the difference between nearly TOTAL and only PARTIAL

These are the old style BirdMangersTM that we made in the garage before we found the Excellent  Manufacturing Company that is making them now. Most of our birds are  still using the old style and they  continue to work great! They are posted here because these  are the best available pictures to illustrate head room.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

    

   If a bird is cramped in too small a BirdMangerTM   he may not stand on the manicuring perch all the time he is eating. Instead, he may grab the food and carry it to another part of the cage to eat. There he will surely drop some or all of it.

     You want your bird to be comfortable -- not cramped!    The BirdMangerTM must be sized so that the bird stands on the manicuring perch and bends at the waist (above the drum sticks) without hitting his head on the silo partition. Both of these feeders meet that requirement, but the bird must also have ample head room.

Mounting Instructions Text Box: Mounting Instructions:    Sit in your favorite chair and look at the cage.   Choose  the highest horizontal bar on the opposite side of the cage, either front or side,  so your view of the bird will not be blocked.  (Choose a lower horizontal bar for Critters.)

LIDS

The BirdMangerTM was originally designed without a lid. Lids in our aviary are an encumbrance. With over 250 parrots to feed and water every day--we don't want to fool with lids! We don't even like them for our house birds. So what if they eat out of the feeding slide when they are roaming around on top of the cage. (We don't fill them that full in the house.) But so many pet bird owners felt they just had to have a lid that we included one on our new feeders. (Our suggestion to breeders is to retain the lids.  They make wonderful tray scrapers.)

 

 

 

 

Care & Maintenance

    Mild dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth are all that is needed. Never use scouring powders or pads that could scratch the surface.    

    The BirdManger TM is made of acrylic. If dropped, it may crack or shatter. Handle with the same care given to fine china and it should last as long as china.

   

   

 

     BirdMangerTM   Feeders  &  Toys are the best defense on the market to protect your bird from Aspergillosis the fungal infection high-lighted by Rebecca Sweat in her article "The Home Invader" published in the June 2005 issue of BirdTalk Magazine. 

       From the the long list of precautions suggested by Robert Dahlhausen, D.V.M, owner of Veterinary Molecular Diagnostics in Milford, Ohio came this quote:

"Mold can grow on food, damp paper and droppings.  If bedding, shavings, litter, a cloth "birdie buddy" or nesting material becomes wet (such as during bath time), take these items out of your bird's cage, and replace them or let them dry out.  Don't allow a day to go by without taking them out of the cage; if you do, you allow mold the opportunity to grow."

     Our BirdMangerTM Feeders keep food dry and protected from feces  period!

       Our unique Tube Swing--which doubles as a sleeping module for our pet birds--is the ideal replacement for the mold-prone cloth "birdie buddy"!  The Tube Swing provides warmth and privacy without the tendency to mold.

      As a BirdMangerTM service to the owners of small and medium sized pet parrots we set out to explore the world of PVC (which is far less expensive than Acrylic) and found some very interesting shapes.  This is the best of the best and we are proud to offer it--as a  replacement for your small parrot's mold-prone cloth house.  It has a large flat place to swing and play on top and a place to swing and sleep inside. This is "Sweetie" our Senegal's first ride and you can tell from the look on  her face she was delighted.
